e85 conversion with a b18 and boost
I already posted this in hybrid, but that doesnt get much traffic..plus i know its only engine dependant, but the engine will be going into a 95civic (b18c, and later turbo)
due to raising gas prices i am looking into converting to E85. i am looking at the flex full gold http://www.change2e85.com/servlet/StoreFront.
all it is, is a box that connects inline from the ECU to the injectors. and can be removed at any time. what i want to know is, does anyone have any experience with E85 and turbocharging?
what kind of boost pressures would be safe to run? if no one knows by the time i do my swap (and god knows when the turbo kit) i guess i will be the ginny pig.

You should be able to boost the **** out of it, being about 110 octane. You will not save money on gas though because there is less stored energy in E85, you will get less miles per tank. The only thing you are saving over is the price of racing gas.

well, unless someone beats me to it first, i guess we'll see how e85 affects a 1/4 mile time on a stock jdm b18c (non type r) but thats going in when i get back from iraq.
so you all are gonna have to wait 15 months

Re: (LowTEC-Derbo)
make sure your whole fuel system is stainless, and that your tank is e85 compatible.. otherwise bad things will happen, trust me i have ran into this issue at work while testing some prototype DI injectors.. and also you have to run e85 at 9.5:1, so you arent saving money at the pump at all. I guess the only good thing about it is that it smells good, kinda like grapes
