Default E series engine

ok this is my way of making people who are having a bad day laugh just a little bit.
this kid i work with is trying to tell me that he has a e series engine in his 98 civic ex. And that his engine makes 160hp with just a intake and exhaust. He said that his friend who he thinks is a honda god said that his engine is a E series not a D and that means that it is some kind of economy engine. I could not stop laughing when he said that. i tryed to tell him that there is on E series there is B,D,K, and H but no E. post flames for this kid i am going to have him read it once i get a few other people saying there is no such thing

It sounds like he has a d16y5 (has vtec-e, probably where he's getting the e). It puts 115hp at the flywheel according to Honda. Probably 117-119 with intake and exhaust.

Yep, only thing I can think of is the D16Y5 VTEC-E motor.

Also, there is an F-series.

yeah its probably the vtec-e - which is nowhere near 160hp. hes a tard, and so are you for making this. p.s. there is also f series.

Most people you ask, would not have a clue what an engine code even is, let alone what their specific engine that they drive around all day. Does this kid claim to be a honda god, or has he been deemed so by others more ignorant than he?

Besides, this sounds like info that has been passed through three people now, ever play the telephone game? Perhaps B was misheard as E, and.....why the hell am I trying to figure this out.

There, thats for your friend, happy now.

It would be a little more hp than that with i/e buddy...

I love people who think they're honda gods. The guys that drive the 4D Accords lowered on cut springs and an ugly spoiler (thinking of one kid at my school) who thinks he knows everything about Honda - but whenver I try to have an intelligent discussion with him about VTEC or something he's like "what? I have underglow and you dont!" kids these days...sheesh.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by MrIllegalX &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
It would be a little more hp than that with i/e buddy...</TD></TR></TABLE>
