e-cutout question... NEED HELP

Default e-cutout question... NEED HELP

in the instructions to install an e-cutout, it says to wire the positive to a switched fuse which is only on when the ignition is on. why is this. would i be able to wire it to just the battery terminal? what would be the downside to this. need help quick. thanks alot

and where exactly is a switched fuse in the fuse box?

The switched fuse side is so the cutout only works when the key is on. Battery terminal it will have 12v+ all the time, what if the wire burns in two= dead short= your car is on fire. Now if you install a fuse less than 12 inches from the battery, no fire.
