I have a B18C with aem intake and rsr header... i got a dhm electroinic cutout to slap on, mostely for the fun of flipping the switch to make it loud..... It seems like im losing power a little bit... is that possible, i figured the less exhaust flow the more power.... anyone help??

What other mod's do you have done to your engine that you could possibly see the use for an exhaust cutout?

other than near future boost. nothing as of right now... skunk 2 intake mani and like i said cai and header

Dont worry about any cutout until you have boost, keep it normal.
Yes, no backpressure will cause you to lose power
You need to research more into how exhaust systems work if you came to the conclusion that less or no backpressure will always mean more torque

A well-designed exhaust system should as little back pressure as possible. You just need to maintain a high exhaust gas velocity.

You might be losing power from the e-cutout if it reduces the exhaust gas velocity.

Honestly i didn't come to the conclusion that less backpressure = more torque... i just figured i will have boost soon... and what the hell... i wanted to hear what it would sound like, and see if i would gain any hp

Welp, without a full exhaust, you really lose the bottom end feel. You cant find much use at this point for it, until you boost your car, then thats a different story.

you could just not open it all the way . thats what i did on my rex when i wanted a little bit of open DP sound without it being god awful loud

I used to do that to my car. I put on a reeally big muffler in the back and it sounded like a subaru freaked my fren out. BUT as fun as it is, im going to warn you that sooner or later, ur going to have an exhaust leak. It happens to me at least. Basically the cut-out wont close all the way. Ur going to be running it close most of the time im assuming, so i suggest you check it once a while. I had mine closed most of the time and after a while, i noticed exhaust gas leaking thru the cut out. Just wanted to share that.
