E-Brake will not disengage after repeated abuse.
Arite so the other night a friend of mine was driving a girl friends car and thought it would be fun to yank on the e-brake while turning corners. Don't flame me for this, cuz I am not responsible . Anyway so this morning she tried to drive off and noticed the e-brake is still engaged even with the lever down.
Does anyone have an idea of what might be causing this or where I should look?
It's an EM2 btw, but I thought i'd post in here since the audience is wider and generally more old school and educated on this shiet. Sorry I don't have a better description of the problem, as I haven't heard/felt/driven/seen the car yet.

i don't know what you mean by sensor? for the light? the issue is the mechanics of the ebrake not electrical. The lever is down but it's apparent that the ebrake is still engaged. The light, however, goes on/off when u put the lever up n down.

Check brake fluid reservoir first off, that will trip the light as well, and much more severe.
Remove the parking brake console and inspect the switch, it is a little clicker switch, pretty easy to break, or bend out of position, remove it and test it, or bend it back into position.
