E-brake sticks
Hey guys.
This problem happened in the winter, but it went away after I stopped using my ebrake for awhile and just started leaving it in gear instead.
During winter, one morning I came out, put down my ebrake, and while backing out of the driveway I noticed it felt like the ebrake was still on half way, I could feel it grabbing in the rear. I drove for awhile and the problem went away.
I recently started using the ebrake again in the spring now when its warm out and it seems to stick a little bit still, not as bad but is still noticeable untill I drive for awhile then it goes away.
Any idea what could be sticking? And if its simply a matter of lubing a part up?
thanks.

Pull off the calipers and see if theyre stuck or the pins that they travel on. I've had numberous problems with my rear disks. If you have rear drums your out of my league.

Re: E-brake sticks (2lua)
thanks
if my ebrake cable is rusted and stuck what portion might it be stuck? right under the console? or somewhere along the line right before the drums?

should really just take off the rear wheels and check. im assuming its drums so take off the drum and has someone pull and release the e brake and see and then clean it.

Yeah, if it's drums, and you have high milage, there could be a lubrication problem. There are some metal - metal contacts on the drums, and the lube can get 'dried up' by salt and corrosion in winter.
