e-brake light

e-brake light
Well, i've got an interesting issue with my e-brake. The light on the cluster stays on even after i've released the e-brake. It doesn't do it all the time, only when its a cold start (in the early morning / late evening). When it does this, it stays on until I turn the car off and have a "warm" startup. I'm not sure if that's linked to it, but there's at least SOME connection. I have sufficient brake fluid and i've tried new master cylinder caps. I was thinking it MAY be the e-brake switch, but I think it'd cause it to stay on all the time. Thoughts / ideas?

May just be cause its not making sufficient contact. The cold may just be a coincidence, Although, cold weather has been known to do a number of odd things to cars. Checking the wire contact would be the place to start.

This happened to me. Only on cold starts it would come on but when warm the light would stay off. After like a two weeks it just stopped coming up when i didnt even do anything.

Re: e-brake light
Bump for an old thread...
I am having the same issue. brake light comes on during a cold start, and then will go off when it warms up, unless it is really cold out, then it will only go off when I hit the brakes and it may or may not come back on. I was thinking maybe it was a vacuum issue but I am not sure.
Any insight?
EDIT
I think this may fix the issue, looking like a bad/clogged filter.
