I know what they all mean, but i have not seen an ek hatchback that has power options unlike the coupes and four doors and I cannot find any information about it.

CX and DX hatches don't have power options.

Yeah, it is and it isn't. I don't think honda thought they would sell well enough to bother. But the good news is you can create what would be considered an EX hatchback minus the sunroof pretty easily with all OEM parts. If you have a '96 - '98 civic use the floor harness, door harness and switches from a '96 - '98 EX coupe. If you have a '99 - '00 civic use the same parts from a '99 - '00 EX or Si. Its important that you follow that, the harnesses and many plugs changed between '98 - '99.

Look for the Trim Differences thread. It's in the FAQ. It goes over all the options in the US.

can you use a 97 HX harness in a 96 DX hatch? HX is just an E-Vtec EX minus the sunroof, right?

If I remember correctly yes. it was kind of strange idea really, the VX IMO made a lot more since, Vtec-e engine with no options, hell it didn't even have what most people would call standard features.
