B16 worth it?
I just found a guy in my area selling a B16A2 out of a 2000 Civic SI. The motor looks to be in good condition and there is only 30k on it.
The guy has had it sitting for a pretty long time and it has really collected dust. Only thing wrong with it that I can see is he lost the valve cover, so all the exposed parts in the head are pretty rusty.
It comes with everything to do a B-swap like rear t-bracket, motor, ecu, 2 starters, transmission, shift linkages, ect.
He wants 2k for it and said he could clean it up and run some tests to make sure it still runs ok.
Is this a good buy? Would the rust on the head give me some problems?

Re: B16 worth it?
Not for $2k. Especially if it has been sitting without a valve cover on it and the valve train components are rusted.
I paid $1k for complete B16A2 w/S4C tranny with 170,000kms. High mileage but it was running like a champ. I know this for sure because it came straight out of my friends car. Double the price with a rusted head? Nah...I would pass. Unless you could get it hella cheap and he gets it cleaned up and running before you pay him. My 2 cents.

2k no its not worth it... even if its a complete sway and u can bar i still wouldnt pay **** for that shitty *** motor.. go buy a gsr for 2k or a jdm b16 for 1k and itll run way better then that usdm b16

Re: B16 worth it?
Why would a jdm b16 run way better than a usdm b16? I think the difference is only 2-3hp at the wheels from what I have read.

If your willing to spend 2k on a b16 swap that obviously needs work, put more cash to the side and your possibilities are endless. 2500 and you can piece together an h2b swap for example.
