Default DUMBA** question...That light in the ash tray??

I have been trying to figure this out. The light (the bulb actually) works and I am getting powa to the bulb but it works intermitently. I have to jiggle the ash tray to get it to work and it's really touchy. The only reason I am posting this is cuz at night when I go to look for change the bastaaaad never pops on when I need it.
I drive a '93 civic hatch with STOCK interior (just so there are no "clarification" comments). Thanks for any help.

Bad ground probably. Might be a bad bulb. Also, the connector might be dirty, being in an ashtray. Or, maybe your car is haunted...

It's prob. haunted...The tach jumps at me sometimes...the bulb is fine and I don't smoke so the bulb is MAD clean.

I found that after I replaced the bulb in my ashtray it did the same thing. For some reason the new bulb didn't fit quite like the original or something, but it was the same one. Good luck in trying to get this problem solved. I'd like an answer too.

Yeah...it's pretty irritating. I go to grab the change and *poof* it goes out and I have to pull the tray out and turn on the interior light which is dim as f*ck.
