YEah maybe this could go in the FAQ at the top. I'm working diligently to remove the gasket material stuck to the D16Y8 intake manifold that I just bought. I've been scraping with my thumb nail but they're starting to get sore and it's just not working on the seriously baked parts. What do you guys do to get the stuff off? Give me options and I'll pick whichever one fits my resources best!

Razor blade or die grinder.

A putty knife does wonders. Its what I've used on all that kind of stuff.

Yeah razor blade or putty knife. There is also some stuff you can buy at a parts store that is called gasket remover that you spray on it and it acts like acid and eats the adhesive away. Also try some goo gone if you have some laying around.

i use gasket remover and a razor blade. once i i didnt have any gasket remover and used Aircraft stripper and it worked

I end up getting a razor blade out with one of the handle things and go after it.

Ok I'll try the razor. I was hesitant to use the razor because I didn't want to deface the metal but I guess if I'm careful. . . I'll give it a shot.

Not sure but thats what I've heard. The manuals say to use Acetone. I didn't have any here and I'm doing it in the living room for heat, so I'd rather not have the stink. I'm pretty sure it works fairly well.

i always use paint stripper... why scratch the surfaces with sharp objects if its not necessary.....
