dumb idle issue please help !!!!!!!
OK guys so this is the deal i just traded a 2000 ford explorer for a 95 civic hatch i am very familiar with these cars I've owned plenty of civics before. but the car is giving me a very frustrating problem with its idle ..
D15Z6 VTEC BONE STOCK!
When the car starts up SOMETIMES it will adle perfect at a grand BUT MOST THE TIME it will start up and give me a up and down idle at a pretty fast rate and when i put it in gear it jerks REALLY NASTY ! till i past 2000rmps than it clears up but still rides like ****. Now, when the car starts fine it drives perfect gives no problems witch i fine extremely weird because it pretty much acts up when it wants too and also fixes it self when it wants to and it's driving me ******* crazy ! LIST OF THINGS I'VE DONE.
Replaced TPS senor
Replaced iacv
Checked if map senor was good ( AND IS )
Played with idle screw
I'm tired of wasting money on parts and not being able to figure out whats causing the problem it does have a check engine light but i believe their isn't a plug that plugs into the car to read the code when it's obd1 i believe there is other method to it but i do not know how to do it. any help would be nice any ideas on what it can be or things to try would be very much appreciated. THANK YOU.

Actually as far as FITVi didn't take it out and clean it all i did was tighten it up a bit it was alright tight i kinda just made sure it was tight. and bleed coolant really? how is it possible that coolant can make my car idle and run like **** like it does ?

Re: dumb idle issue please help !!!!!!!
Because the FITV uses the engine coolant to adjust the idle. It is governed mechanically...
Cold.... Open...
Hot..... Shut...
If you have air in the system, it can get trapped in certain spots such as this..
Causing a shitty idle..
If a pocket of air comes along the car will think its cold... And the valve opens causing you to bounce the fuel cut at 1500...

So just leave the car on till bubbles start to come out to I let the radioador empty out that way or just till I believe the air is out ? Sorry for the stupid questions just never done this before.
