Re: dumb??
styles of cars and the years kinda.
ek is like 88-91
eg 92-96
so on and so forth. those times probably aren't perfectly accurate and eg might only go to 95. helps when buying stuff because some will not cross and some don't matter.

Re: dumb??
People often call all 96-00 EKs and 92-95 EGs, but really they're different. It's just a chassis code like delsolo said. Some people on here enjoy freaking out when people say the wrong ones.

Re: dumb??
There are so many it's almost mind numbing. Like I drive a usdm 93 coupe, well my chassis code is EJ1. My friend has a Canadian 93 coupe and his is EJ2. My other friend drives a Canadian 94 hatch and his is EH2 which would be an EG in most people's minds. For a broad generalization here goes:
88-91 civic-EF
92-95 hatch-EG
92-95 coupe-EJ
96-00 civic-EK
94-01 integra-DC
Those are most common and like I said this will give you a general idea of what peeps are talking about.

Re: dumb??
Only the 02 integra part, they stopped making the integra in 01 and in 02 its the rsx and I believe that the chassis code for that is dc5. Dc2 is 94-01 integra coupe not four door I believe the integra four door is a DB9??

Re: dumb??
actually the ej8 part is wrong too. it goes by model like EX is ej8 and DX is ej6.
92-95 Civic "EG"
EJ1-ex coupe
EJ2-dx coupe
EH2- all hatches -si
EH3- SI hatch
96-00 civic "EK"
EX coupe- EJ8
DX coupe/hatch- EJ6
HX coupe- EJ7
SI coupe- EM1
92-95 Civic "EG"
EJ1-ex coupe
EJ2-dx coupe
EH2- all hatches -si
EH3- SI hatch
96-00 civic "EK"
EX coupe- EJ8
DX coupe/hatch- EJ6
HX coupe- EJ7
SI coupe- EM1

Re: dumb??
Some of what was said in here is incorrect. I won't go though pointing it all out, instead I'll just link you to the correct information.
Everything you want to know is in this thread.

Re: dumb??
As far as what people THINK is right, here are some of the commonly understood terms:
"BB2/4" - '92-'96 Prelude
"BB6" - '97-'01 Prelude
"CB" - '90-'93 Accord
"CD" - '94-'97 Accord
"DA" - '90-'93 Integra
"DB" - "Integra sedan" (used for '90-'93 an '94-'01)
"DC" - '94-'01 Integra
"EF" - '88-'91 Civic/CRX
"EG" - '92-'95 Civic
"EK" - '96-'00 Civic
Remember that many of these codes actually can refer to totally different cars, or some of the cars grouped in the generations described can have totally different codes.
So, technically speaking, the information I just posted here in this post is incorrect!

Re: dumb??
em1 is a ll I need to know. 3 doors are light but I'm so set up with my 1999 Si, love that thing. Just stoked on it, not even commenting on the codes. Duel wishbone etc it's great.
