Dudes! Just finished an ls swap in my eg coupe...
well, my mechanic just finished it after i couldnt get it to run either way, i just drove it home today. its really a fun little ripper, im pretty happy with it.
anyway, i have a few problems, and im wondering for some suggestions. keep in mind this is a super budget build...
1. the mounts seem blown. the motor moves a lot while idleing, rev'ing, ect. all mount bolts are super tight. i bought the swap with them attached, this b18 was originally in an eg. the mounts have no name stamped on them. i dont want to pony up the cash for hasport mounts or the like, i was wondering if there was a solution, like possibly a poly insert to stiffen the mounts up? if there is, what does hondatech suggest??
2. the cluster is a stock eg ex cluster. the spedo reeds fine, as does the gas gauge and the coolant temp. the tach seems off as soon as it goes over ~2k. it doesnt climb nearly as fast as it should, and when on the highway the motor sounded a lot higher than the tach reading at 2.5k rpms. does it need to be calibrated for the b18? do i just need a new cluster?
3. i bought koni struts and h&r springs to lower the car a bit, but my mechanic was unable to remover the rear bolts because they were frozen stuck. i need new bushings in order to install the new struts bc the bushings (which are prob already shot) will be destroyed. should i just buy new bushings, or am i better off buying the BLOX rear LCA's? the car will not be that much lower than stock, only a few inches.
im sure i'll add to this, as more problems pop up. thanks guys!

was there a need for any conversion mounts when doing the swap?
i'd buy another OEM set or some people have filled their mounts with some kind of caulking, i cant remember which
i agree ~300$ hasport mounts are uneccesary for a DD

all i used were mounts that came with the swap, the swap was pulled from an eg. they look aftermarket though...

hasport mounts are always neccesary for a dd or race car because even in dailys ive "seen" the driver side mount blow out, thiers nothing holding it down but its own weight, but i would just get some oem mounts for now, and trust me that bolt will break loose with a litt muscle getta wrench on it and hit it with a huge hammer and then replace the bolt with a new one, and clusters dont have to be calibrated for certain motors so idk what the deal is on that, oh btw i just remembered that hasport does sell a bushing to go in the aftermarkit mount and for lca's it doesnt matter which one you use its if you ever wanna bolt a sway bar on or if you wanna shave 2lbs off or not
