Default dual vtec sohc q's

ive been shopping on ebay for a new motor,and obviously i want to get the newest possible engine.all of the 96-00 vtec motors have a dual vtec sol.wtf is that all about.and are these motors worth the money,or should i stick to the z6 style motor.thanks.

if it has the dual vtec solenoid, then it is an I-Vtec motor, I don't think that those motors are any better than the z6's.. I loved my z6 that I had, but if i'm not mistaking you have to have the right computer for it.. I'm not to sure on it so don't quote me, but I know a guy here has a 97 Coupe with a D15b with that kinda vtec solenoid and it doesn't run all that great..

Ebay isn't the best place to get a motor.

i dont know wat the hell follower is talkin about hes definatly confused but i think u r saying ur loking for a motor for ur civic andc all u can find on ebay is a del sol motor the b16. its dualover head cam i belive u have a sohc z6 and yes they r worth the money. dont use ebay use hmotorsonline.com or passwordjdm.com

if you read his post again it says a dual vtec sol.. not a dual vtec motor.. it looks as if it has 2 solenoids for vtec instead of 1.. read a little more and you'll see what i'm talking about... but I was wrong.. it isn't an I-Vtec... I had to go back on what I first put, it is a 3 stage vtec solenoid...

yes,dual solenoid sohc.but if i have to run the obd2 ecu to get it running correctly,i wont be going that route.im turboed and running a chipped p28.i think i stay with the z6's.thanks.

cool cool, the z6's are much better to run then the d15b's... made a good choice...
