DSM convert!
well two weeks ago i ran across a 94 civic hatch for $500 runs and everything new clutch and what not, anyways i have a few friends that are in to the honda thing me i have always been a dsm guy. i had a few friends come check out the car and then stuff started poppin off i guess it has jdm mirrors and center consel (Sp) its a clean little car along with getting out of dsm i ended up selling my partial built 4g63 for a complete gsr swap and b series turbo mani. then i had a friend say hey i have a intercooler and a turbo you can have if you come help me put this engine in my civic so parts started to flow lol. so i decided to take the money i got for my dsm and put it into this gsr anyone have any input? it would be much appreciated thank you

Re: DSM convert!
suggestions.. hmmm. well If it's a stock engine, and i assume that it is, keep the power level at no more than 300hp if you want it to last awhile. How soon do you think you will boost it? Are you trying to do the motor swap and boost it at the same time?

Re: DSM convert!
The only thing different from the GSR to B16/ITR is the intake manifold/TB. They have a different bolt pattern on the head and rotor direction on the TB. Other than that all B series VTEC stuff is interchangable.
What turbo are you looking to run?

Ball bearing? That thing is going to hit pretty hard once you get past the lag. If you're looking to run around 300whp 8-9 pounds on the turbo will be more than enough. I am assuming external gate.

Re: DSM convert!
Good deal. My buddies stock ITR was on a BB 60-1 and at 1 bar made 430whp...on a dynopak none the less, but it was impressive for a stock motor on a basic turbo. I made 340whp on 1 bar w/ a stock LSV with a 53 trim...so the 60 is a nice upgrade.

No one will get mad now that you have switched to the good side Its going to be nice to not have to rebuild your motor every month though
You're going to have to get used to the lack of traction...trust me, it's addicting.

Re: DSM convert!
I honestly dont know. I have had crome on my ECU for 4 years now, upgraded to gold a couple years ago, and just retuned with it in August. As long as you have the software you're fine. If he did leave there just will be no new features or upgrades to add. Basic crome sucks IMO and has bugs so make sure you get the right software if you decide to use it. Neptune RTP would be my second choice if I had the cash for it.
