I know it wont have vtec but it doesnt matter cause it'll be a daily driver to and from work.

Will it work using the stock cx ecu and engine harness off the 1.5L 94 Cx.

yes it will work and no your car wont run like **** it will run just fine the only thing you will not have is vtec if you use that stock ecu and you will also need to run the vtec wires from the solenoid to the ecu to make vtec work

d16z6 Engine and all is in now.Now the car seems to run rich.

Ran fine with the stock cx motor. Now that the d16z6 is in it runs rough.

just get the right computer.... atleast get a dx computer... the z6 needs more fuel than the cx.. the cx computer is meant to run a 1.5 8 valve motor with little ports... the z6 is a 1.6 16 valve with bigger everything

Strange, from what the shop is telling me now is that too much fuel is getting to the motor.

Motor is a jdm d16a(sohc vtec)same as d16z6
Engine harness and ecu are from the stock 94 cx.
Note the the jdm engine did come with broken tps and map sensors so I replace them with the stock cx ones.

I am leaning on the tps or map sensor but it(the stock cx motor)ran excellent but had a leaking headgasket.

did u get the tps adjusted correctly??? .5-5 volts??? if u have it where it shows more than 5 volts at full throttle it can run rich orif u have it less than 5 volts at full throttle it will run lean

You should've just swapped the throttle body. Instead of taking the TPS off and sticking it in place of the broken one. Those things need to be calibrated.

I wanted to just switch the throttlebodys around but the stock cx was way too small and wont fit the z6 manifold.

Yes I knew that taking the tps and map sensors off and putting them back on was going to start problems but I couldnt find a z6 throttlebody anywhere but the dealer($260)

Note dealers dont sell just the tps and map sensors they sell the whole throttlebodys.

Your problem is the fact that the CX came with smaller injectors.
So you're running bigger injectors than what the ECU was intended for. That is why you are running rich.

Either put the CX injectors on the EX motor or just get a DX or EX ecu.

yeah it should work with no problem, if your only daily driving it. if you want vtec to work order a p28 ecu from a shop they should cost around $150 depending. or you can find one from a buddy might be $50 might be $80. other then that the car will run fine the way it is. but if your trying to go fast sometimes, no it will run like crap. but other then that find an ecu and use the z6 manifold and throttle boady and injectors if your not already using it. then you can go fast sometimes.

noobs..... the problem is the cx uses 190cc injectors, so if the ecu is using a fuel map for 190cc injector but opening a bigger injector, what happens??? more fuel is added, just like any other civic using bigger injectors on the stock ecu, it will run very very rich. swap the 190 cx injectors in if you dont have the money to get a p28 or chip the stock one.

Hm, probably running rich because the motor is meant to be run off a 4 wire o2 sensor, but is being fed fuel from a one wire o2 sensor. Get a p28, wire up vtec and the o2 sensor and you should be good.

whether or not the motor uses a 4 wire or 1 wire o2 from the factory doesnt matter, he is still using the factory ecu which doesnt use a heater, so the o2 still works fine, but doesnt heat up as fast (by the way, we are talking a minute or so to heat up). thats not the problem.
