Re: Drop Springs Or Coil Overs
There is so much more to this than personal preference.
For starters, what is the primary use of the car going to be? How aggressive of a drop are you looking for? etc..

but springs wont increase the handling and theyre not adjustable. go with a decent brand of coilovers its worth it. cus adjustable coilover sleeves is gonna cost you like 350 and another 350 for shocks you cand get blox full coilovers for that price

My Tein SS are the nicest ride I have ever experienced in a Honda. Coilovers have a bad rep for being bouncy because there is so many shitty ones out there on the market. If you want a NICE adjustable ride, your going to pay for it. I prefer good coilovers over springs any day because they are adjustable.

Depends on what you want to do with the car. If you want it for show, drop it on springs and MAYBE a decent set of struts. If you are looking into tracking, coilovers is the way to go.

I voted lowering coils for this poll, because the OP was asking an opinion between the two drop zone options. Also,i have experience in the drop zone line, more than most others, as i used to sell it about 5-6 years ago.
Pretty much all of their coils would ride pretty rough, being a cheap no name brand, just like most other no namers. The coil springs on the other hand weren't a bad ride quality on most applications. Being i was a distributor for them, i was given a free set for my rsx which was stock and new at the time. I remember thinking, i'd rip them out if i didn't like them....anyhow, they rode really well, i'd say better than stock ride quality. Many people comment on well the car rides and handles to this day. So, some food for thought.

If the OP didn't mention any specialized use for the suspension components, you can assume that it will be used to drop the car and DD it.
Springs. That one's easy. Nice coilovers are expensive. Shitty coilovers are cheap. I'd rather have a nice set of springs for $200 than a shitty set of coilovers for $800.
You could also do GC sleeves and stock shocks or tokico blues as long as you don't slam the car.
If you're looking for a slammed car with a good ride...you'll have to get coilovers that are full body adjustable. Problem is that nice ones are a little expensive. You're looking at atleast $1100 for something like a skunk2 pro-c.
That's kinda where decent coilovers start.

it all depends, on what YOU need it for..
just want a little conservative drop, low maintenance -- nice set of Springs
dumped, show, track, can handle and enjoy tunning the suspension -- nice set of coilovers
OMNI POWER are very nice

Re: Drop Springs Or Coil Overs
hey guys I had a 2000 civic ex with the white tokico shocks and some red adustables(dont remember the name or whatever) that was the best ride
now I have 95 hatch/gsr and I got tokico blues with eibach sportline lowering springs
its a pretty crap/ok ride I always need to avoid potholes and road construction
btw is tha a good/ok setup for softness and performance?

Re: Drop Springs Or Coil Overs
didnt say ebay, or no name coilovers,
coilovers get bad names becuase of people that buy cheepass parts and reccomend them to others,
or some that have very high spring rates and people wonder why they ride stiff, or bounch because they threw them on stock shocks,
coilovers can ride good you just need good shocks or a 1 peice coilover.
no, your setup isnt. you have oem replacement shocks on a lowerd car, and its rides like *** due to this. get better shocks, tockico whites are very good, kyb, koni, and others, and you should/will have a way better ride,
i have skunk2 slip ons, stock shocks blown to hell, rides stiff and hardly any bounch, springs rates are high.

Re: Drop Springs Or Coil Overs
^^ Why?
I love how everyone has opinions, but nobody posts any good reasons for their opinion.
"(BRAND X) IS THE BEST!! GET THAT!!"....... why??
