Default Driving Impressions.... RHD car.... anyone?

I am looking to import a 92 civic SiR from japan. I am aware of all the legalities of putting it on the road here. I just wanted to know of anyone who has or had a RHD car and their impression of driving on LHD roads.

my friend has a RHD civic that ive ridden in a few times... its kinda scary when you are taking a left turn at an intersection because you cannot see the oncoming traffic whatsoever.

but he says hes used to it. it just takes time to adjust.

Its definitely going to be an adjustment, but I have wanted a RHD for about the last 10 yrs. I got to drive rhd mini back in 1995 and I was sold on it. Since EG style civics are finally legal for import, I'm going to get one.

lol somebody did it. Some guy in a RHD integra backed up and got his food while in the car! He made a thread on here about a year or two ago and posted pics from across the street. Some guy went in the drive thru and he was pissed
good times hahaha....

I know a guy who has one, he said it's a pain in the *** because of, a. he said he's right handed, it was a bitch learning the H pattern with his left hand he said, also he said passing was damn near impossible unless u could see, and that toll booths and drive throughs are either impossible or get out of ur car, he said it's not that it's harder to drive, it's jsut that it's more to work with as everything in our society road-wise is designed for LHD as to Japan where it's RHD but left side of the road..

Shifting wasn't difficult, but making Uturns took some getting used to. I found parallel parking to be much easier, but I think if I owned a RHD, the novelty of it would wear off quickly.

i have been wanting to convert my ef to RHD for a while now, but i dont know much about it, what all do you have to do to get it legal? will insurance go up or anything like that? i found a front clip including b16 engine for a couple grand, but what are all the costs of installing it?

IMO I think that RHD cars in the US are over rated! Everything will be harder to do, you will have a higher chance of getting in accidents... Stick to LHD...

True. But I like my cars to be two things.
1. Fast
2. Different

E. Honda did a nice write-up
It just basically depends on where you live as for as worrying about the DMV. It's simple, just don't let them know. Guys have passed state inspections with there RHD. It is still USDM. Just keep your old VIN numbers off your LHD. Here in Indiana there aren't inspections so I dont think I have to worry about it incredibly.

But I love fast food and going through the BK drive-through is going to be a bitch now.

And before anybody says it, just buying an SiR isn't necessarily better. Being legal is still going to be hard probably, I dont know though, thats why im on here now, trying to read up on the legalization.

Nope, it's exactly the same as in the states.

I drove my cousin's R33 GTR. Shifting isn't hard, kind of like going 5th to 6th (in my old Type-S). Went to reach for the turn signals, but turned on the wipers instead. Little awkward for me to stay centered in the lane, was slowly drifting to the left. But, it's something I could get used to in a day.

i think it definately outweighs the hassle. i mean i know the work will be hard as hell. but were talkin about some extra points at car shows, and old people giving you f*cked up looks. thats just awesome.
