Default Driver's side floor board soaked.... Ahhh

I have a 92 VX with 99 B18C1 swap which doesn't see winter and is garage kept. I have a winter beater to get me around. I get in it and start it up and drive it around once a week though. I got in it yesterday and noticed that my driver's side floormat creaked when I put my feet down I pulled up the mat and the floor carpet was frozen to the mat. It's been well below freezing for a month straight. My first thought was the heater core leaking, but if it were coolant it shouldn't be frozen. Looks like I'll be yanking the carpet completely out to investigate...

To be completely sure, yank everything out and do a leak test, you'll find the culprit soon enough. Had the same problem a couple of months ago, turned out it was a hole in the firewall area that wasn't plugged up. Good luck!

I just removed everything this morning: seats, armrest, console, ebrake console, blah blah. Now it looks to me like the wiring going to the SRS computer won't let me get the carpet out. I think I need to disable the airbag and unplug the harness so I can remove the carpet Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

cut the carpet.
I knew someone was going to say that. I thought about it but if I do that, when it goes back in it will look like *****! It does beat disarming the airbag though.... hmmm

I had to cut my carpet in one little place where it goes around the center console, no big deal, i was able to hide it.

there have a been a billion posts on this, if you do a search you will find them all.

I think it came down to if you ever have had your windshield replaced, then the cowl wasn't installed correctly, or the sealing was not, then the leakage form that ill drip down during any wet weather and collect mostly on your passenger floor, and sometimes drivers. Most of the people, and me, cause i had it happen, said it was the passenger side, so you might wanna check that out too!

Actually this post was more of a complaint than anything. I did search for information before asking, I'm not a noob Most of the articles are about leaks from taillights in the rear or apply to EK's. I'm the original owner of the car and the windshield has never been replaced. I'm not asking for anyone to determine the source of the leak. I'll find that once I get the carpet out and hose it down really well a few times and drive it on a rainy day. Looks like i'll be cutting the carpet behind the center dash reinforcement bars. It's gonna be a pain to disable the airbag and lift up the bar to slide the carpet under it.
