Default Drivers side axle removal

I have a b20 swap in my 93 hatch and I need to replace the driver side axle. When I tried to pry the axle out it would not pull apart for the intermediate shaft. I don't think I've ever taken the axle out before and I was wondering if there was a trick to do it.

Thanks
Joe

Does it have the C-clip like the passenger side does? I was using a huge prybar and the bitch wouldn't budge.

might sound like a dumb question, but did you remove the half-shaft mount from the back of the block? it shouldn't be that hard to remove from the trans.

There is a lil C-clip in there. You dont necessarily have to remove it from the block to take it off.

If you want or if you "really can't take it out", you can take the intermediate shaft out along with the driver axle and then take it apart... however if you do that you'll leak transmission fluid... Your call.

I had a 36in Pry bar and it moved about 2cm. I've never removed this axle before, thats why I asked if the is any special way. Best guess is its seized in there some how and I'll knock it a few times with a hammer and see what happens.
