driver side motor mount broke
Im New to this so bare with me, I was driving on the freeway, and my car started shaking, pulled off onto a side street and looked under my hood and my motor mount is shaking and one of the bolts is broken off, what is the part that connects to the motor that has bolts to connect to motor mount?

That would be a motor mount bracket.
It helps if you provide your car details, Year, Make, Model, Trim and any Modifications to the car.
Failure to provide this information causes a failure in quality replies. You reap what you sow.

Stickies are not optional reading, especially this one. The part you're talking about is...part of your mount. They're a dime a dozen at junk yards.

You shouldn't. TomCat just beat me to the punchline. In the future, you really should make a habit of reading stickied threads before posting. It's forum etiquette 101.
You're still missing one big thing from the rules, though. "All necessary modifications." What mounts are you using for your swap?

Re: driver side motor mount broke
The best thing, or the cheapest thing?
The best thing would be to order the Hasport driver's side mount, to complement the mounts you already have. The cheapest thing would be to go to your local junk yard, and get a replacement for that part.

Re: driver side motor mount broke
By the description it's the bracket, not the mount.
Part #8
1996 Honda Civic 3 Door DX KL 5MT Cylinder Block - Oil Pan
8 11910-P2A-000 Bracket, Engine Mount 1 $37.67 $27.12
The part that "bolts into the block".
You said a Y7 so that would be from a 96-00 DX non vtec car.

Re: driver side motor mount broke
Yes it's that bracket but one bolt stripped off somehow so there's only one bolt holding on the mount, I put it back on, (motor was hang in) until I take off the bracket and mount from my y8, the motor mount was bad as well

Re: driver side motor mount broke
So, did the bolt break off inside the mount, or did it come out cleanly? Mount bracket damaged at all? Threading stripped out? If you're flat broke and need the cheapest answer possible, as long as the mount bracket isn't damaged, you should be able to just replace it with a nut and bolt, but make sure they are HIGH strength, not the cheap stuff.

Re: driver side motor mount broke
One bolt on the bracket broke off right at the seam , and the mount has a lot of play to it, so as of right now it's holding on by one bolt till I get paid and buy a hasport mount and another bracket

Re: driver side motor mount broke
You could just replace that stud. It is vertical, and should be an easy broken bolt to remove.
Or is it one of the other bolts #14 or #12 that secure into the block? That must be removed so you can get a new bolt in there...
If it is #17, you can easily remove that whole bracket and work it in a vise in the shop/garage, or if you don't have that luxury, working it while it is still mounted to the vehicle should be easy and held very securely for the bolt extraction.
Or you could just buy another bracket without the broken stud.
I would be asking myself why that stud broke in the first place, it should last two lifetimes of the vehicle. Was it overtightened? Under tightened? Something else....
