this is my second civic and it has the same what i think is a problem.

i cant push the lock button unless i pull on the handle first then lock it but i can flip it to unlock no problem. is this a civic thing or what cause its been that way for both of mine?

the passenger side i can flip lock and unlock no problems.

It's by design. I've trained myself to lock it from the outside with the key so I lessen the chance of locking my keys inside the car.

Its Hondas way of trying to help prevent you from locking your keys in you're car. I assume lol

It's by design, the driver's door is meant to be locked only from the outside with the key so the keys can't be locked in the vehicle. Honda never really intended for people to find out about the pull up and lock method.
