driveaxle removal/installation
i am having difficulty popping out the driveaxle on my 97 civic...i have everything apart and the axle is supported...i tried first with a long screwdriver(no luck)...went out and bought a set of pry bars at autozone and still no luck...car is up on jacks in the front..car is in first gear... i tried when in gear and not in gear...still no luck...any ideas,suggestions..the axle will spin and i tried tapping around the housing for the inner cv joint....nothing seems to work...thanks in advance...compo1 it is the transmission end not the hub end!!!

It should pop out especially if you are using a pry bar. Dont be afraid to use some muscle. Find something that fits in pretty snug between the tranny and the axel and push. It should pop right out.
When re-installing find a piece of wood and a mallet and tap to insert.

Stick the prybar in, so that the angled side points toward the outside of the car.
then with a quick snapping motion pry the axle out of the tranny
