Default Door lock troubles

I have a 92' Si and I've never been able to lock either doors on the inside, so I decided to take a look at see wth is wrong (manual locks). Here's what I found

Ok, so odviously there's a plastic piece that is broken.. no problem right? Just buy a new one and fix it... well when I went to hondaautomotiveparts.com I found this very confusing, poorly illustrated diagram.

I was wondering if anyone has had this problem or maybe could tell what is what on this diagram so I can get the part orderd... thanks

I was thinking it was 30 (cant really tell the #, looks like 3 with a backwards C)

its definately not 30 thats just a little plastoc grommet that you push into the door for the mounting screws. Im pretty sure the part you want is #5 they dont sell that part seperately as far as I know. Just like the damn stay wires in the injector clips.

yup looks like #5

might be better off going to a junk yard and pick up some spare pieces, that plastic is kinda flimsy

good luck, I had a hell of a time fixing my door lock, I had to bend and rebend the wire to make it all work right

Those are broken on both of my doors, but I have power door lock actuators controlled by my alarm and buttons inside the car, so I never use the manual locks.

I might be tripping, but don't you have to lift the handles to lock the car from the inside?

only the driver's side and only when the door is open. I think it's supposed to be a reminder to keep you from locking your keys in the car.

I've replaced those on my both doors on my ek, Honda only sells the handle as one entire piece, so if it the actual lock that's broken, you might have to replace the entire piece.

perhaps it's just different on ek's
