well to make a long story short i had my door open and backed in to a pole and bent the door back far enought to fu*k the fender up so i took that off and got the door to shut properly. but the only thing is i need to move the door towards the rear of the car like a 1/4 of a inch how should i go about doing that??

when i got new doors, it was just trial and error by loosing/retighting and moving the door till it was right. it's a bitch.

sounds more like you actually bent the hinge arms that hold the door on. if that happened. ou would need new omes to line it up correctly

You could also have twisted the A pillar a little bit the door might still close but I would have it checked by a good body shop. twisting the a pillar a little could cause water leaks around the door or the window
