dont know where to put this but leaking trans fluid
k i checked about everything i know to check. i had a tech a work check. i have a trans fluid leak on the passanger side. its leaked every since a trans swap. i also had a broken axle on the same side replaced the same time as the trans swap was done. now my car is a abs car the axle i replaced it with is a non abs axle. will this axle wok? will the non abs axle make the car leak? we replaced the axle seal thats not it. now its been leaking for 2 weeks and i had to add 1 qt of fluid today to it. in around 550 miles. now the reason we figured it was the axle seal is when it was on the hoist we put it in 5th and let it idle. ever 3-5 seconds the passanger side axle will throw a drip of fluid. i am honestly out of ideas i have checked everything i can check. i just simple greened the trans today and took it for a SMALL drive 3 blocks. parked it and it already had a drip of trans fluid. so im going to start checking tomarrow since it should be somewhat clean. now i ask of you if u have ANY ideas where it might be leaking post them i will check them all.

Re: dont know where to put this but leaking trans fluid (06fg1)
Do you know if its throwing from where the axle enters the transmission?
New seals can leak I had done my girls axels and replaced the seals while replacing both axles and it still leaked from the one of the seals, So I had to replace it again and then it stopped leaking but there are plenty of places where your tranny can leak. Fill hole not likely since you are loosing large amounts but still can leak if the trans is overfilled and not tightened correctly. As well as your drain plug in not properly tightened. The housing seal to the block mount could have broken and can leak fluid. Did you check for any knicks in the seal seat in the trans or dirt before installing it best i can tell you is first re-replace the new seal but before hand check the seating for imperfetions or dirt clean it with a tack rag and some carb cleaner and install the new one if it still leaks go from there.
