Default Dont buy cheap header = Failed emissions

After loosing my license for 6 months because of "test driving" my civic before i got it licensed and insured while speeding ( ) ........

I finally get my license back, then my dad lets me license my car... Well my cheap ebay header didnt do the trick for the emissions test. When i installed the header i noticed that the header and the rest of the pipe didnt line up to well, causing a leak

Cheap header = bad fitment. So my emissions test says i dont have enough exhaust flow because of my leak.

Now im going to order a carsound high flow cat (those are emissions legal right?) and take it to the exhaust shop and get the leak fixed, and the cat welded in.

This is the cheap header i bought

It would be a good deal for $120 if it fit right. The welds look really good, and its a cheap upgrade, but it fits like ****.

i just thought id tell you my sad story

one more thing... where can you buy carsound high flow cats at?

Ebay. Do a search, the first guy that pops up should be a dealer. He does them for 50 shipped!!!

Yes, carsound cats are legal.

I believe those are made by PaceSetter, just not stamped with their logo. Doe snot suprise me about the quality of fitment. But the price is very good.

About the Carsound, check here: http://www.robearracing.com/pd_carsound.cfm

there was a thread about this header a while back. the biggest problem with them is the placement of the o2 sensor bung. It is on the runner as opposed the the collector.

No it's Megan Racing....all their stuff is on egay. That O2 bung is not in the right spot.

A. Who installed it?
B. How did they install it?
C. Did they follow the instructions and tightening procedure?

Even the best header can be mis-installed...

My "cheap" header fit great and offered more gain than I expected and aided the general drivability of my car.... I'm sure it's nothing compared to a bismoto header or smsp... but imo you're half retaRded if you spend that much money on a header unless you're racing and FORCED to remain NA...

The REAL CHEAP stuff like pacesetter is sometimes beyond defense though... which very well may be the case with yours.

Mine's a chikara and other than it's looks IMO it's a great header for the money.
