Its been a while since I've dropped a honda. Ive got a haynes manual from autozone (pretty much covers the whole suspension area) Im installing NEX full coilovers onto my eg hatch.

questions-

What tools should I get ready tonight for my swap tomorrow morning?
Will I need a Macpherson strut compressor?
What size sockets should I have ready?

You'll need a 17,14,12 or 10mm(I forget for the brake lines) sockets and of course a 19 for the wheel nuts.
You dont need a compressor if you are just going to install a full coilover setup.

LOL shooting them does sound like fun.

BTW... Will I even need to unbolt anything off of the stock suspension components and transfer them onto these new coilovers. Or will this be simply just like a swith-a-roo thingy? I dont think I will... but just asking people here with more experience than I.

What about the allen wrench guys? How else can you get the shock "hat" off without the entire thing spinning with the nut? I forget exactly what size, so you will have to figure out what fits.

oops, didn't read this, so he won't need the stock hats? Should be nice and easy then, well relatively speaking. Be ready for the rear shock bolts, they may not want to come out. (Have a nice breaker bar, or long handle ratchet to really torque 'em off, and pray they come peacefully with bolt heads intact.)

hey guys... i havent opened the box up yet. Its in the car which is outside. Here's a link to a site which carries them. Could you guys look at the pics and tell me if it does or doesnt need the stock caps?

thanks... so definately wont be needing a damper compressor of anysort then. Saves me a trip to autozone. THanks so much guys for all the help....

I've always been curious about these coilovers...would you mind posting a quick review when you're done? NEX seems to really be on top of the details (upper mounts, bumpstops, etc.).

Soak those rear LCA bolts in some WD40 before trying to pry them off—they can be a PITA!

I think the SS's are about $800 and the SR's are close to $1000.

Boostsohfast is right on with those prices... But I got ..well how do you say a homie hook up and dont even want to let you guys know what I payed. But I will definately let you guys know how they compare to other suspensions I have ridden in. Im hoping that these things are great. SOLO's coming up soon here in LV so I want to be ready for the road courses.
BTW my beetle rides on B & G coilovers. Those things are sooo siiick... I got them free due to my car being the test vehicle they were developed on. Dual spring speed sensitive strut system. Its one awesome system man. I may call up my friend who is VP of the B & G sales office here in the states, to see if he'll send me out a set for an EG hatch to also try out on the tracks. (located in SoCal) Those also retail for around $800+.

The Nex should be really easy to install with those upper caps especially since you're in NV where you prob don't get much snow. Everyone's pretty much answered your questions but I'll put it in simple list form for you.

You'll need...
-a long pipe to slip over a ratchet
-a ratchet (3/8" or 1/2" depending on your sockets)
-a torque wrench
-a jack
-a pair of jackstands

No, you won't since you're replacing the whole assembly.

-a deep socket 14mm for the upper perch nuts
-a 10mm socket for the front brake line brackets
-a 14mm socket for the front damper fork pinch bolt and rear LCA bolts.
-a 17mm socket for the front fork/LCA bolt along with...
-a 17mm wrench or another 17 socket on another ratchet for the nut on the other side
-a 19mm for OEM lugnuts.
