Doing my frist swap, b18a1 to ek hatch.. please help.
advice about instalation or anything that might help would be great.
got a few questions here to start with.
i already have the top front crv motor mount and i have the complete block out and am ready to rip out the y7. I have a 97 LS donor car that i have free reign on so i was wondering if the front brakes (rear disc have been taken damn it!) will swap over with no issues and i was wondering how to I.D. what trannie is on the block. and can some one measure how long the LCA that fits my 97 hatch, i came across aftermarket LCA set with no part number and im not sure what model they are for. will have more questions later im sure.
thanks

Swap info 6th generation 1996-2000 Civic and 1996-1997 Del Sol with 1st generation 1989-1991 JDM Civic B16A, 1992-1993 GSR B17A, and 1990-1993 Integra B18A Engine
Transmission: These engines come with Japanese or American market cable clutch transmissions including S1, J1, Y1 or YS1. To use them, you will need the Hasport cable conversion kit M96-CC. Japanese or American market Y21, Y80, S80, S4C hydraulic clutch transmissions.
Mounts: For civic, a combination of stock 99 Civic Si and Integra or Del Sol VTEC mounts and brackets can be used if hydraulic B-series tranny is used. For the Del Sol the Del Sol VTEC mounts and brackets can be used and you will need to change the bracket under the timing belt and on the rear of the engine for ones of appropriate year. When using B-series cable clutch transmissions, you will need to change the bracket under the timing belt and on the rear of the engine for ones of the appropriate year and use Hasport cable conversion kit M96-CC.
ECU: By far easiest ECU to use in most situations is the P30 from the 96-97 Del Sol VTEC. Only a few models of 99-00 civics need the 99-00 Si ECU.
Electrical differences: Wiring differences can be significant; here are a couple guidelines. The electrical modifications depend entirely on the ECU used and the year and model of the vehicle. The engine electronics need to be updated to match the year of the ECU used. For the engine wiring harness, it is generally best to use the stock harness and modify to fit. If the ECU you choose does not use the same plugs as the stock ECU, an adpater harness will cut down on a lot of potential problems.
Axles: 90-93 Integra axles, 94 up Integra axles, 94-97 Del Sol VTEC axles or 99-00 Civic Si axles. NOTE: The intermediate shaft seal in the left side of the transmission is different for the 90-93 Integra axles.
Shift linkage: 99-00 Civic Si linkage for civics. 94-97 Del Sol VTEC linkage for Del Sols
Upper radiator hose: For B16A and B17A, use 94 Del Sol VTEC. For B18A use 94 Integra Ls
Lower raiator hose: 94 Del Sol VTEC
Throttle cable: B16A and B17A use 92 GSR. B18A use 90 Integra Ls
Clutch hyraulics: Stock
Air conditioning: 96-97 Del Sol VTEC AC bracket
Considerations: Using Non-OBD ECUa is not a good idea. Using OBD1 ECU requires the use of either ECU adapter or involved modifications to the harness.
