dohc vtec swap in a 98 DX???
so i have a few questions... i'm looking to get a swap from H motors... i have a DX with a Y7 in it.. i want either a b16A or i might save up for a gsr swap or a b16b swap... my question is.. what will i have to do to swap it in??? i know for a fact that i will need axles shift linkage and?? do i have to change my motor mounts? or will a b series drop into an EK DX?? what will i have to do for wireing? do i need a new harness completly? or will the harness that comes with the motor plug and play??? Thanks for all the help in advance!

I'm pretty sure you can use the same mounts. just need the rear tranny braket from a si. as for wiring, vtec wire, vtec oil pressure, and knock sensor depending on which motor you go with or you can do the ckf bypass. other wise its pretty simple. i also have a 98 dx with a gsr swap.
oh and just an opinion here but don't go fo the b16b its a waste of money if you consider the power and money it costs compared to a gsr. i got mine for a whopping 1500, and from what i remember they're usually 3000-3500.

you dont need mounts. You need a rear t bracket of a 99-00 si and if its a gsr swap u need the timing belt side of the motor bracket that goes between the motor and mount from an si too. If you have the bad oil filled styled driver side mount it would be good to replace it with a newer style. There are real simple writeups in the faQs on wiring for swaps.

Re: dohc vtec swap in a 98 DX???
so do you guys think if i just get the motor mount kit from like avid racing or hasport that it would come with the rear tranny mount? or is that something i must get for the car for the mounts on the motor to go in? Thanks for all the help! also.. as for the throttle cable.. is it different ? will i need a new throttle cable or need to modify the current throttle cable? i'm gonna be going at this all by myself so if i can get it figured out before i run into problems all the better :-) thanks guys!

OP, in the hybrid forum there is a sticky with some FAQs
https://honda-tech.com/forums/hybrid-engine-swaps-18/%2A%2A%2Aokay-lets-cut-down-repeated-qs-about-certain-swaps-post-links-here%2A%2A%2A-650230/
see if there is anything for you in there.
and, if you are looking to get something from hmotors, i recommend the jdm gsr. that's what i did a few years ago and it was nice. it's the best bang for the buck if you are going to stay NA. if you are boosting then it really doesn't matter IMO.
