Uniqueness is not always cool if you think about it.

If you put a geo metro engine in your eg it would probably be the only one in the world... But it wouldnt be cool.

You can get a sohc zc probably easier, cheaper, and with much more aftermarket support with around the same power while in vtec.

BS
you cant find an SOHC zc swap for an eg for 100 or cheaper
and why does it matter to you, he wants to be unique, not like all the rest of us with b's h's k's and d's

Who said anything about $100

Dude i got rid of a fully functional y8 with tranny and ecu for $150 to a stranger not even a friend
Now youre trying to tell me it is impossible to find the older counterpart version of the y8 "aka the zc sohc" for around that price.

Now according to you, how is he being different from all of us with b's,h's, k's and (DDDDDDD's)
It is a D16....zc do your research

So anywas to the op... I hope you took my comment positive seeing as I once thought about the exact same swap for my hatch. After further research and halancing pros and cons it simply wasnt in my best interest to use that engne as a donor for the swap.

But at the end of the day its your car go for it..... Remember to post pics of the swap

yeah maintanance isnt to bad of an issue, the usdm dohc d16a9 that came in early integras is very similer and alot of parts are interchangable. back in the day dohc zc swaps were extremly popular but in the mid to late 90's b swaps took over and aftermarket support kinda faded out for the zc. its not going to be the easiest to source aftermarket parts for, as the intake side is different than the sohc d's im not sure about the exhaust side though.

i say zc swap it....g/l with your build

edit: here this link may become usfull to you

it is my car. and i wasnt asking for your input on "how i can be cool"

on top of that. thats my old engine, guess what, it was a b16. go figure an eg with a bswap.

and i dont care if people laugh at me in person, cause i dont streetrace anymore. i just dont wanna get run over by a semi when im pulling on to the interstate.[hence me dropping the 98 whp d15b7

and lastly, i will post pics, im doing a build thread i guess.

thanks

Its really only worth doing if you get the OBD1 distributor with it (No USDM vehicle uses the same distributor and they're about $300 from distributor king) (you can also use a D15B7/D15B8 distributor with one bolt if you also use the cam cap off a B18A1) Intake manifold bolt pattern is unique to the ZC/D16A1. Exhaust bolt pattern is the same as all other D-series, but the ports are offset to one side, so if using anything but a ZC manifold it must be port matched. They're an OK engine, but they're somewhat prone to spinning rod bearings.

ill just create my own obd-0 to obd-1 distributor conversion harness.
its that simple
