Default does the uca move?







when the suspension moves does all of this move making it always that far apart or does the part that the inner wheel is close to gunna rub/hit when the suspension moves

Damn thats close, but the only reason the wheel would hit the knuckle in that case is if your wheel bearing was seriously deflecting. And if the tire was deflecting it would rub.

Whats the wheel size, offset, width, and what size tires? You may want to run a 3mm spacer for some peace of mind.

they are the 16" s2k wheels the ones that came on the earlier s2k's. dont know the offset but i belive they are 7.5" wide. the tires are 215/55/16. can i run one of those universal cheap 3mm spacers on ebay?



if i raise it a lil will it increase the distance between them?

Spacers look like they might help! Also a camber kit would help you a little.

can we get some pics of those wheels on your car?!

The knuckle is connected to the wheel bearing, the wheel bearing is connected to the hub, the wheels are connected to the hub, so lowering/raising the suspension will not make the wheel closer or farther from that part of the knuckle. It will remain the same.

And yes, those 3mm spacers will work ok. I dont think you'd absolutely need extended studs with just a 3mm spacer.

uhh camber will not move the wheel closer or farther from that upper portion of the knuckle.

I figured if he raised it up some that would correct some of the camber and help a little. Just a thought, what does every one else think?

uhh no. how does camber make the whell further in or out from the knuckle? You move the knuckle to change 'camber' and suspension, not the wheel. The wheel is connected to the hub, the hub to the bearing, the bearing to the knuckle.

yes, run smaller tires...yours are waaay too big for your speedo to be correct, and the suspension was not designed to run tires of that size.

also, what is the offset on those wheels? i seem to recall it's like +55. quite high for our cars.

as for tire size - the max i'd run for 16's is 215/45/16. but the correct size is 205/45/16.

You have ITR hubs on there now? They stick out farther than GSR/SI hubs. Damn I kind of like that. I have a virgin set of AP2 wheels sitting in bags in my shed. Less than 500 miles on them. Wonder if I could make them work? You could probably grind a bit on the spindle to get a bit more clearance, the upper part of the spindle isn't highly stressed like the lower part is.

you don't have to grind anything, just run appropriate-sized tires...

Kind of defeats the purpose of putting on nice wheels if you have to run shitty rubber. Of course the problem with 16" rims is tire selection's kind of limited. As it is, you're probably going to have to trial fit tires because not every 205 is as wide as every other one.

I'd be looking at shaving the casting flash and parting marks from the UCA. You ought to be able to get some decent additional space. You could blueprint it and remove all stress risers so, it would be even less likely to break shaved then in it's native state (like you do with connecting rods).

seems kind of extreme, no?

there are plenty of nice tires available in 205/45/16 or 215/45/16 (well, mainly the azenis RT-615 in that size, but what other tire is there? ). i would call the 215/55/16 tire 'shitty' from a handling standpoint; it's also going to be wider than ANY 205/45/16 out there, simply because of the sidewall height (it adds width).

plus, aren't you concerned with speedometer correctness?
