Does This Sound Like A Problem?
I just swapped a low-mileage sohc vtec motor. I did all the little tune ups like plugs, plug wires, dizzy, etc. My question is one day I was playing in the engine bay and my motor was on. I leaned over and setted my hand on my dizzy and it felt as tough it had a knocking to it. For example, if you have a piece of cardboard and you put your hand on one side and take your other hand and pound it on the other side that's what is feeling like. I held my front motor mount and I also felt the same. It's not a big knock, but something small enough to be noticeable. Don't know if I should be concern or not about this. I know it's not coming from the block because I hear nothing from the block, but I hear it from the head. I was planning on doing a valve adjustment, but then wasn't sure about the wierd situation.

I know how valve train noise sounds like. But what I'm trying to say is. When I hold onto the dizzy I feel tapping and when I hold onto the front motor mount I also feel tapping. I hear a little knock too, but when I rev it up I don't hear the knock anymore.

The mount right next to the cam. I don't know I was just curious about the knock. I went through 2 sohc and I've never heard of a knocking noise from the head and tapping from the dizzy.

I would take off the cap and make sure the rotor is on there good.
You sure somethings not loose? Do you feel it anywhere else? Could be that you just need a valve adjustment.

Nope, I don't feel it anywhere else except those two spots. I dizzy is brand new btw. But yeah I was also thinking I might possibly need a valve adjustment since the motor probably was sitting around a warehouse for a long time. But yeah I was just curious about the tapping and noise that's all. Thanks for a reply.
