Default Does this sound good for a B18C (JDM) price wise?

The guy across the street from me has a obd2 B18C he wants to sell me for $500
I just inspected the external parts of the motor and everything looks okay. I tured the crank puley and it felt fine. The only problem is that it is pretty much a head and block only. It has an IM and thats about it.

Here is the list of missing stuff:

Header
Alternator
Distributor
Plug wires
Water Pump
Timing belt
Throttle Body
A couple sensors on the back of teh IM (not too sure what they are)
Trans and flywheel
Power steering pump
Wiring harness

I pulled the Valve cover and everything looked OK. No marks on the cam lobes. No residue or anything.

Does this sound good so far?

I am going to pull the head nad look at it more thorough (sp.)

Sounds like a block + head deal to me. Any way to tell if it's a GSR or Type R?

which proves nothing.... the intake manifold would be a big clue, but your best bet is to check the lettering on the head.

$500 sounds like a reasonable price for a compelte head and block in good condition. especially if you want to build it on your own.

JDM motors do not have numbers after the C. It will read just B18C.

Well, I finally bought the motor, and am happy with it. I tore apart the head and block, and everything looks great. The motor can't have but 40,xxx mile on it. I paid 500 bucks for pretty much a short block. Was this a good buy?
