Default Does size really matter???

I'm putting a set of 17x7 rims on my 99 civic ex w/ ground control coilovers.

My question is what size tires would be best for me. Would 215/45/17 be too big??
Also some brand recomendations(sp??) would be apreciated.

I would recomend against 17s though.

215 is too wide for civics... usually if you're dropped a more than 1.5" with 205 series tires, you will rub.

17" will fit fine as long as the offset is correct. Call tire rack and see what offset they recomend. But like DragIIcivic said, I also would not recomend 17s.

I've heard that 17's can make your car noticabely slower. Only if your car has reasonable amount of horsepower. 400 hp Rx7's don't need to worry about it.

17--slightly better handling at the expense of acceleration.
15--good acceleration with slightly less handling
16--good medium of both acceleration and handling.

I would think about the roads you drive on....if they are shitty(last time I was in Athens there was alot of construction going on) you might want more sidewall.
