i wouldnt use the stock civic pump for too long. do it right from teh begiing, i picked up my gsr pump for 20bucks, fuel pumps are cheap. even a b16 pump is better than the stocker. btw, what pump do you have?

Funny, I ran my B18C5 just fine with my stock Civic fuel pump and even dynoed higher than every Type R in my area with less mods than them
Stock is just fine. They are the same pump y0!
If you got one for free or cheap, then drop it in. Could not hurt to use a newer fuel pump just in terms of age.

they are not the same. i took out my stock dx in place of gsr/itr/si (all the same) and it made a huge difference. but i wasnt running a stock motor. the dx fuel pump is tiny compared to the dohc vtec pumps.

In the 1992-1995 Civics and Tegs, all the fuel pumps *look* identical and I will call my suppliers today at work to see if they have the same part numbers too.
I wasn't really talking about the 1996-up stuff.
I'll double check today at work...

I stand corrected I think:
Part numbers for various fuel pumps:
Acura Integra:
GS/LS/RS: 17040-ST7-L31
Type R/GS-R (same): 17040-ST7-L01
Honda Pumps: (1992-1995)
CX/VX/LX/DX/Si: 17040-SR1-A31 List price of $174.00
Del Sol VTEC: 17040-SR2-A31 List price of $318.00!!
So I guess they are different, but I never had any problems running my Type R swap with my lowly Si fuel pump

Well as we all know...part #s aren't the end all evidance for a part being differant....
depending on where honda bought the pump from, and sometimes apparently just for the hell of it...they change pt#s when you KNOW they are the same.
I do believe there is a differance.....although not a big enough one for it to matter though. as for the LS pump being a dog....I dissagree.

I thought there are two different kinds of fuel pump, ones for sohc and ones for dohc. I was told the dohc pumps flow a little better. I use an ITR pump that I got from a junkyard for my hybrid.

i am unsure of 92-95 civics, never had one. all i know is that the 2000 dx fuel pump i had was weak sauce compared to the gsr one i put in.

True part numbers don't really mean ****, but I assure you if Honda has a $200+ dollar difference then they should be a different pump.
Still not enough IMO to make much difference though
