Does an ITR oil pump fit a B16A???
hey H-Ters,
im an aussie in need of help!!! does an DC2 ITR oil pump fit a B16A without any modifications, ie, is it a straight fit??? and what r the benefits of an ITR oil pump??? will it protect my engine better at high rpm??? my current internal engine set-up is as list:
JDM B16A
spoon cams
spoon double valve springs
titanium valve retainers
adjustable cam gears
stock bottom end
i ask about higher rpm coz i have the mugen ecu and wish to rev the engine to 8500rpm frequently (circuit racing), should this set-up be safe for frequent vists to 8500rpm??? and will the ITR oil pump prevent oil starvation???
Cheers

It should, but honestly it might be the same part number to tell you the truth.
Any B series oil pump should bolt up to the block.. The only differences will be the size of the gear, and the fins on the inside of the block actually pumping said oil.
The B16 oil pump should be sufficient even up to 8500 RPM, provided the oil pump itself is functioning properly. I've heard of people mixng and matching B series oil-pump parts to get more rotation with the smaller B16 gear and the larger B20 fins, but it depends how hard-core you're trying to be.
