Default Does it have to be a certain temp for Vtec to activate??

Noticed that since I swapped my B16a2 in my hatch that the temp must go up to normal operating temp in order for the Vtec to activate.

Is this normal?

ECU is tuned (horribly) with Crome. Not sure if that makes a diff.

Thanks!

No. Engine is running rich though. Not too bad, but still a problem.

vtec will not engage until the engine is warmed up. shouldnt be affected by A/R ratios.

This is normal. Plus you don't want to hit VTEC on a cold engine.

This is for a z6, but your b16 will be very similar:

Cool. Figured, but just wanted to double check since the clowns at one of the speedshops in town were amazed that it wasn't kicking in when the car was cold. As far as the A/F goes, it was "tuned" by the same DB's (douche bags) that didn't know about the Vtec. Basically it consisted of installing Crome (hopefully a legit copy) and using a baseline B16 map.

How would I go about tuning it more accurately? I need a wide band right? I think that's the right term. Lol
