I've been trying to track down a buzzing sound for weeks and I can't find the source. It buzzes at about 3000 RPM in neutral and on the road. It's a very brief noise that always happens at the exact same RPM. I just checked the exhaust/cat and nothing is hitting. It's just some plastic/rubber part that's buzzing, but I can't find it. It's somewhere in the front driver's side quarter of the car, but it's one of those frequencies that's hard to pinpoint by ear.

Give me some tips because I'm stumped.

Perhaps you could try driving a light-traffic road with someone else in the car with you to locate the source of the noise? That's what I do when this happens, and it happens alot. G/L.

Put that sucker on some jackstands and rev it to 3 grand with someone else there to check where that noise is coming from.

Believe me, I've had my whole body outside the door while driving trying to pinpoint it.. Then I discovered it does it while parked as well. Had it up on a jack a few days ago, but I didn't have a friend to help. I'll definitely do that next. I was pushing the gas pedal with my hand while feeling around underneath.

I guess I was just hoping it was a common part that vibrates, that's why I asked.
