Re: (saywhat)
i'll answer my own question. Went to a junkyard and picked up one for both a 93 civic ex and a 97 civic ex.
They are different part numbers, but they are interchangeable. They wiring is slightly different, but it can easily be figured out. Thats the only diff.
Thanks for the help guys.

Hey man i had huge problems w/my cable reel and basically i don't recommend replacing it yourself. Its easy to put on but if you put the steering wheel on right afterwards and it's not 100% stright you will break the sensors from the turing radius of your steering wheel and the horn will NOT work. I had this problem i also have an extra cable reel if you wanna take it off my hands make me an offer. However i'd have Honda or someone that can put the steering wheel on perfectly or you will lose your horn. as far as a 97 cable reel goes not sure if its worth the effort b/c 92-95 cable reels are fairly easy to come accross. In fact i have 2 extra ones. Hope this helps

Re: (mingbling96)
actually.. to correct myself.
No it wont work. they are different, wiring wise. the 92-95 civics are a flat type of wire while the 96+ are just wires. Just want to update just in case somebody in the future runs acorss this post.
