Do your trannies grind when cold?
I left my car outside overnight last night because it's leaking a bit of oil because one of the drivesafts can't be put in all the way. Anyway every day before i go anywhere, i've been checking the tranny oil and i add mtf if i need to. This has been going on for the past 3 days.
Now when i start driving after the car is relatively warm the tranny grinds 2nd and 3rd gears, when the car is up to normal operating temp, the grinding stops completely.

Use better oil.

Yeah, mine shifts the same at 50* as it does any other time, but when it actually gets cold, like 5*, then it occasionally grinds a little bit, and is harder to get in gear, that stops when the car is warmed up though.
