Default Do shortshifter have to brake in?

I just installed a tenzo short shifter on my 97 civic coupe, i love it, so much shorter throw. but one problem its really stiff, it takes some muscle to shift now. Does it have to break in? I heard you have to lube the ball before you put the shifter in so I used wd40, had nothing at the time. let me know thanks.

My B&M came with lube. Shifts as good as the day it went in.

B&M Pro Edge are worth the $$ IMO

this could be the case. also, you said you used wd40, I would go back and hit it with some white lithium grease or something

works wonders, i used this on the ball joint and also think about the bolt connecting the shifter rod to the connecting rod near the exhaust piping. I wouldn't losen it, but make sure it's not over tightened.

The bolt that goes through the arms fork, connecting it to the linkage.
Also, get the white lithium or graphite lube and hit the ball up w/ it.
