Re: Do I need to replace these rear LCA bushings?
i really wouldnt worry about it for now. do you plan to do any suspension work to the car like coilovers? that bolt looks like its in pretty good shape but a lot of times they will become seized in there and you have to actually grind them off.. what i did when i put springs on my hatch is had my friend grind the bolt off after the head twisted off and then i just went ahead and bought some blox lcas because the bolt was seized all the way through the stock lca. i also replaced all of the bolts just so it didnt happen again if i ever had to take anything off again.

You Should notice a clump sort of sound when turning 20MPH+ or sharp turns that's when there bad.
But i wouldn't worry
like What CPreston said When the bolt seize up there a B*tch. takes longer to replace LCA then doing a Clean wire tuck.

I agree with the others. Two things: I do not recall ever reading of anything like a catastrophic failure of these bushings threatening life and property. Also, the difference in the feel of the ride likely will not be all that noticeable with new bushings.
The bigger threat to health is probably in trying to replace these bushings one's self. Replacing these bushings is a good education in hydraulic presses and/or, for the young among us, building biceps.

I appreciate the opinions. I'm doing a suspension / bushing "overall" and some of the bushings are much more black / white. I have access to a press and the bolts have been replaced recently in the LCA (I've been back there multiple times) so I'm not worried about them being seized.
There's other bushings that look the same, a little worn but it sounds like I shouldn't be concerned with them until it's really torn deep or there's lots of play in the bushing?

Also, is there no separate OEM front LCA bushings for the EM1 arms? I've already replaced #7, but need the shock fork and subframe bushings. I don't want energy suspension or anything, so is there any OEM solution or do I have to buy the whole arm?

Honda doesn't like to sell LCA bushings for some reason. You don't need to buy the
whole arm from them either. Ask a chain auto parts store or get them from an online
auto parts dealer. Moog and KYB make good ones, but these rubber bushings are expensive.
I am all about poly bushings now. So much easier to deal with and sooo much cheaper.
But, add a set of coil overs in the mix and the combo just about rattles teeth out of my skull

Also, you can get brand new rear LCAs from Majestic Honda with bushings in place
for about $62 per arm. That's a good deal

And the 5th gen bushings wont fit the EM1 front lca right? I would think the one that connects the subframe might work ( i know the shock fork one is larger) but I hate to try it out without knowing for sure?

The EM1 front LCAs are different from the rest of the 6th gen models for some reason too. Not sure if they share the same bushings either.
Come to think of it, you may get better results posting this in the suspension forum. Just a thought.
