I ran without a 4040 prop valve with just my rear disk conversion without any problems. Braked fine and didn't lock up at all.

Same here, i never changed mine, actually i went to honda and compared part numbers between my Sedan Canadian LX (US DX i believe) and the part number for my my prop valve is the same as a '92 Si hatch with rear discs, so i'm really not convinced there even is a difference.

I have full gsr brakes on my DX coupe. I did NOT switch the prop valve or m/c, booster and it works fine. just make sure that you bleed everything properly.

The proper way to do things is to buy a new prop valve. So you dont have to, but you should.

just make sure when you do the conversion, make sure you bleed it or it will lock up in like a week, it happed to my brother 2 days ago. and he just used a 2000 si proportional valve and its work fine

Not really, as mentioned, the Si hatch (non-ABS) has the smaller 9.5" front brakes with rear 9.4" disks and a 3035 prop valve. This is the same as the Civics without the rear disks.

'94 - '95 Si's i believe got larger front brakes, can anyone confirm, also i've seen engine bay pics of Si hatches with the larger 15/16 master cylinder. what i guess i want to know is, is the larger master cylinder due to larger front rotors or ABS?

Only the 94 Si ABS had the 10.25" front brakes. Larger MC for larger front brakes (larger front calipers). Basically the 94 Si ABS has Integra brakes on.

When you go to a larger front setup, it is recommended you change the prop valve. When you just have the rear disk conversion with the 9.5" front, you don't need to.
