I am going to install steering boots on my civic vx manual steering. the boots were torn since i got the car now i got a chance to change it. I got the parts to install it and the bootd kit didnt have grease. What grease do i put the parts guy dont know what to put or if required to do. And for the clamps looks like zipties.

Re: do i need grease to install manual steering boots?
There is a small amount of grease that goes right on the ball of the inner tie rod (use should see this when you have the old boot all the way off), but the boots do not have any grease in them (like a cv axle) They are simply a dust boot.
BTW, great time to check and make sure that you don't have any free play in the innter ties rods (since you can see them directly)
