Do I have to lift my car if I want to put on hubcaps?
Do I have to lift my car if I want to put on hubcaps, or can I just put them on one tire at a time without having to jack it up. Don't give me bull cause I know I'm asking an easy question. Just want clarification.

Re: NOOB QUESTION
Assuming none of your lug nuts are damaged, all four nuts will have a small black ring on them holding the hub caps on. You need to remove all four. To do this safely, you need to lift the wheel off the ground.

Re: NOOB QUESTION
It just depends really on how many of the lugs have those rings. I've worked on Hondas where there are only two you'll just has to take a look and see. In fact my accord came from the factory like that. Should look like this:

Re: NOOB QUESTION
Every EJ chassis I've worked on has had either 4 of those rings on each wheel, or has had lug nuts replaced. Also, according to parts catalogues, both the EJ1 and EJ6 chassis should have 4 per wheel.

Re: NOOB QUESTION
Both my wifeys LX and my daughters EX only have two retainers on each wheel. I know that is not the way it came from factory, but at some point in time someone either broke the retainers or intentionally removed them.

hahaha I worked at a tire&wheel shop years ago, you'd be surprised at how many people can't figure out how to get the hubcaps off/on. And OP didn't mention if these are OEM hubcaps/wheel covers or aftermarket press-ons.

As for my experiences:
Completely stock 1998 Civic had only 2 of those lug nuts per wheel.
Completely stock 1997 Civic had only 2 of those lug nuts per wheel.

Re: NOOB QUESTION
It didn't come from the factory like that. It came from the dealership like that. A lot of techs used to take 2 of the rings off so they didn't have to take the wheels off to remove the hubcaps when they put the sensors on the wheels to do an alignment, especially when they're on flat rate.
