I guess you could consider engine oil the "vtec fluid." But most likely the guy was giving you a hard time.

Or wait were all dumbass's but we have the same motor and vtec engages at all different times... Ill sit back and watch let the ''pros'' get this one..

b18c1
VTEC 4,400rpm.
Secondary butterfly ~5600.
VTEC engagement point can change some depending on throttle position.

between??? how's that work - does it just do it when it feels like it? i've heard 4800 on the dot. could you explain please.
but i know y8 is at 5500 for 100% (i can actually hear it ). plus, the stock tach is usually about 200rpm over, so if it's supposed to be at 4800, you won't be in vTeCH it till the tach crosses 5000 y0.

D16z6 - 4800 RPM
B18c1 - 4400 RPM
Depending on the ECU that you are running depends on when your vtec will engage not ur cams or motor. Why do you think people purchase a Hondata or rechip their ECU to change the VTEC Crossover

I believe it depends on the TPS...at WOT it opens at 4800...if you're at low throttle 5200 maybe? I know it varies, i'm just not sure what it varies on...ask spade
