Default Do all clusters work when you buy them?

Is the gas and the temperature meter always working correctly when you install a new cluster? Are there any adjustments done?

It should unless your cluster is screwed up. If it's not reading correctly anymore, than something is wrong with the cluster.

What cluster did you swap into what car?

If you put a GSR cluster for example into an Civic, you would have to rewire it because in that case it would not work correctly.

However if you put an EX civic cluster or a JDM civic cluster into a any civic, everything should work properly with out doing anything.

If anybody ever took of the cluster face and touched the gauges [gas gauge particularly], it's not going to read correctly.

Unfortunately, I know this from personal experience. It's really hard to get a gas gauge dialed back in once it's been altered from it's original position.

Alright thanks a lot...i went to get a si/ex cluster today. The person who was selling it to me...sold it to me for $55. I then took it and installed it into my hatch immediately. The gas and the temperature were READING ALL WRONG. THEY were both skyrocketing to the top. And he said "oh, your just suppose to get that adjusted...no problem... $5 @ any shop" LOL i was like "yeeaaa...right dude...give me back my money bitch!" What a jerk...tried to take me for a fool.

Why not just buy it for that cheap and see if you can fix it?

i bought a lx cluster off egay for $40. i had the same problem with my temp gauge skyrocketing. i just warmed up the car, then i carefully pulled off the needle. next, i put the needle back on where its "supposed" to be when the car is warm. works fine now. however, my tach always reads 500-600 rpm high.... at idle it reads 1200, vtec engages at 6000 (5500 is what my p30 is supposed to crossover) and i can rev to 9000 indicated (8500 cutoff)

gas temp ... you should set it where it was on your old cluster and the temp is pretty much self explanatory

Yes, you can readjust them, but you can't get them back to the where they should already be.

If they're off, that means somebody tampered with them in the past.

If you know your car is not overheating, just turn it on, and put the needle where it should be reading.

For the gas, just fill your tank all the way up and then put the needle to the top.

It's not the best thing to do, and I wouldn't use a cluster that I'd have to do that to, but it works.

If i were you i would return the cluster and get your money back, save up for a cluster that would actually work without you having to fix anything......imho

If they physically do not work, I'd say screw it and get yourself a cluster that does. You shouldn't have to FIX anything.

I was under the impression they worked, but were just innaccurate.
