do 17" rims and boost mix?
basically what the topic says.
Should I ditch my 17's and go for like some 15 or 16 inch wheels. I would like to keep my 17's.
I know that size of rim slows your aceleration by I was figuring that boost will give me the power I need to spin those huge wheels.
Is it better to go smaller with boost, or is it okay to keep the big wheels on boost.

If you like the rims keep it. Most people on here wont and they'll say ditch them and go small. I say F them and do what you want. If you like them, keep them.

it's actually the weight that makes a difference.
old pic of my car, about 18 months or so
as low as I could go on 17 Enkei's
now, with 14s, will probably go larger after brake & engine swap
I would have kept the 17s if I didn't have my stock engine & brakes, but the weight difference from stock made my car slower than even I could imagine.

Hell...just turn the boost up a couple more psi and youll be just as fast as someone with a smaller (lighter) rim. I don't think that it will really matter, but the cost of tires, their easier to bend, and they rub is what has kept me away from them!

amen...
all that matters when you go to the track...change those 17's for a set of slicks and your set...who cares how big the back is..

weight makes all the difference. ive heard that having 3 extra pounds on each wheel is like having a 150 lb person in the passenger seat. light wheels are the way to go, the difference from a smaller size is almost negligable.
